Summer Rain | Jennifer Albrecht

Hello everybody, this is Jennifer with a new layout featuring the gorgeous July Hip Kits. I didn’t have a theme this week so I went to town on the new goodies that arrived on my doorstep this week. Have you guys received your July kits? Aren’t those exclusive pieces by Kimberly, Kim, and Irit just gorgeous? I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. It’s no wonder that my layout is very heavy on the exclusive embellishments.

When I got my hands on the stripey Paige Evans paper from the  July 2017 Main Kit, I knew I would cut them apart. So, without knowing where my page was going I went scissor happy. While I was cutting I decided on using a lose weave-design as a background element.

Because the papers were so colorful I used a black and white photo. It doesn’t clash with the colors and it really pops of the page because it’s so dark.

I matted it on Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine papers that went well with the other colors. The photo is popped up on some fun foam to give the layout a bit more dimension and so I could fit in some of those Summer Bliss exclusive chipboard stickers Kim Watson designed from the July 2017 Embellishment Kit.

I love putting flower shapes on my layouts but that means that those are first embellishments that run out. To make them last longer I like to cut them in half and tuck them under pieces of paper. Whoever looks at it will never know that those flowers are cut into halves.

Also from the Embellishment Kit and also designed by Kim Watson is this super cute camera puffy sticker.

Usually, I prefer to add more than one of any embellishment but I really wanted to save the other camera stickers for upcoming projects. And to be honest, there’s a pretty random cactus sticker on this page. That camera is definitely not the strangest part here. 😀

For the title I combined the word “summer” from the chipboard stickers with the alphabet stickers from the Main Kit. The colors make the title pop and it goes really well with the photo.

I really love this page – it’s colorful and fun (and a bit random). I can’t wait to dive back into the July kits.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon with a new project.

xoxo Jennifer
