Hey everybody!
Thursday is here again – this means that we will give you three different ideas on how to use a certain products. Today, Terhi, Ashley and Jessica are joining you with fun projects. Ashley and Jessica are giving you ideas with the Oh My Heart paper 24 by Pink Paislee (included to March Main kit) and Terhi will lead to the world of paints on a scrapbook page – without patterned paper! Which one you prefer, have you ever tried scrapbooking without patterned paper?
#1 Terhi
Hey! Even though my huge passion is to use patterned papers in any possible ways, sometimes it is really exciting to step out from the comfort zone and try something different. We have three amazing paints in February Color Kit and by using them in few different ways I received vibrant page without a piece of patterned paper.
As the Shimmerz Self Priming Paints don’t need any kind of gessoed surface to add on to, I took the lovely blue one and started to play with straight on the white cardstock. By using only my fingers I draw three oval(ish) shapes and let dry.
To add more interest, I took Heidi Swapp Metallic blue texture paste from January Color kit and used a stencil to add it on top of my paints. Then layered lovely Pretty Little Studios embellishments in three clusters.
To finish up to page, I mixed the same paints again with water and springled the liquid here and there. What a lovely effect! I really hope this inspired you, it was so much fun to work on this layout!
Now let’s see what Jessica and Ashley have done.#2 Jessica
Hey there! Don’t you think this patterned paper is so much fun? Now, I must admit that I don’t tend to use a whole sheet on a single layout, but can you imagine that I have almost nothing left of the paper once I was done creating this layout?
First, I punched out a circle using two patterns facing each other. (Check picture for reference). Then I cut around the outer edges to have another circular element that I spread across the filled circles and all around the page. It was so much fun! I also punched out fun colors from the cardstock kit and placed them behind my picture. I embellished it with the awesome flower ephemera from Paige’s collection, then added some mixed media using the designer stencil and yummy shimmerz paste from the color kit.
Here are some closeup pictures. As you can see, I added tiny enamel dots onto the Oh My Heart ephemera and I also colored in those gorgeous Thickers from the main kit using alcohol markers – I love doing that.
I hope you’ve had some fun joining me today – check out what the other talented ladies created!
xox,

Hey y’all!
I absolutely LOVE the idea of focusing on patterned paper because not only does it challenge me, I feel like I have direction during my scrapbooking process! As Jessica mentioned, we are focusing on the “Oh My Heart” patterned paper.
So most of you know that I love to use my punches. There is SO much you can do with punches. I have a variety of tools in my stash, but I often love to grab punches or cut shapes from patterned paper just to add a little bit of something different.
This time, I used lots of the #24 paper by “Oh My heart” and decided to cut the squares into triangles. I added them vertically along my page and then simply stitched them down. In addition, I cute some cloud that complimented the triangles and I LOVED the contrast of the rounded cloud shape to the edgy angle shapes!
I also used my “notebook” punch to cut another piece of the “Oh My Heart” paper so that the page felt more cohesive. Lastly, I added some embellishments from the Dear Lizzy collection, Pinkfresh Studio (Live More) collection, and the Paige Evans (Oh My Heart) collection.
I love the way this page came out and I hope you do too!
For my PL Spread, I took on somewhat of the same approach as I did in my layout. I used some of the cloud punches as well as some of the leftover triangle pieces from my LO. I cut some of the “Oh My Heart” papers to 3×4 and 4×6 and simply used these as my cards. I also used a few pieces of the White Cardstock from the Cardstock Kit.
I used the black thickers from our PL Kit for the title card, and used lots of embellishments from the “Oh My Heart” Collection along with the Pinkfresh Studio Live More collection. Those Pinkfresh phrase/word stickers from our PL Kit HAVE to be my favorite embellishment pack in these kits!
Don’t forget to check out my process video for my two projects!
XOXO
