Make the most of your die-cuts by Kim Watson

Hey Girls! It’s Kim here with an idea using layers of pretty 3D leaves to showcase your favorite fall pics! It came about as a result of another page I created this week (see below) using my september2016 kits where I cut leaves from the background page using our FREEBIE subscriber cut-files for October & filled them with another pattern.

Shine Today by Kim Watson

I couldn’t just waste them, so used the leftover leaf shapes to create became this pretty wreath. I admit I did fancy them up a bit. A few extra cut outs, vellum overlays & stitching really made them super 3D & fun.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

After laying them in a circle, I machine stitched them, the multiple circles of stitching further add to the texture & funky vibe.

After matting my photo with gorgeous Crate Paper, I then layered on Simple Stories ephemera, a cute tassel, chipboard & wood veneer clip from @Pink Fresh Studio. I love how the cluster turned out. I really think this page showcases this gorgeous photo of my delightful nieces & is already sitting pretty in a frame on my family portrait wall.

Love this Day by Kim Watson

This was the original page I created during the week. Using the FREEBIE cut-files, I made a lovely background by die-cutting leaves from the entire page & then filling them with another pattern. I love how the pink & yellow compliment each other. Foam tape lifts the top layer off the bottom layer resulting in a fabulous 3D vibe.

Color specific clusters add balance & interest to the overall page design. TIP: Serrated scissors are a super way to fancy up a straight edge, like I did with this ticket ephemera.

If you have a few photos you’d like to add to the page without cluttering the design, try a photo strip like I did. The white borders separate each photo & add a lightness to the design.

I hope you have found these pages inspiring! Thanks for stopping by. Remember if you still would like to purchase a few of the September add-ons you might have missed…you can place an order & ship it for FREE with your November kits.
