Happy Tuesday Hip Kit fans! Kelly here to share a new layout using the 2016 October Kits. My theme for today is “no white” which you would think wouldn’t be too challenging considering that 2 out of my last 4 HKC layouts consisted of no white…BUT this was quite the challenge! Telling me I couldn’t have something made me want it all the more! HA! I always enjoy a crafty challenge so this was really was fun to put together!
For my background I layered multiple pattern papers from the Main Kit. Starting with the woodgrain pattern paper from the Maggie Holmes -Gather Collection, I then cut apart one of the pattern papers from Simple Stories-Posh Collection, and finished the layers with a pattern paper from the Pink Paislee-Take Me Away Collection.
The initial struggle challenge was just figuring out what papers to use so once the design was set I was good to go! Next I started working on my photo cluster. I used a project life card from the Project Life Kit, the cut apart sheet from We R Memory Keepers Honey I’m Home collection {which is included in the Main Kit} , a layer of vellum from my stash, and a light pink American Crafts Flamingo Cardstock included in the Cardstock Kit.
To embellish my photo mat I used multiple ephemera pieces from the We R Memory Keepers-Honey, I’m Home ephemera pack included in the Embellishment Kit and also the WRMK Sticker Sheet included in the Project Life Kit. I also added in a die cut camera from the Dear Lizzy-Saturday ephemera pack included in the Main Kit.
It just so happened that the beautiful shiny gold Thickers from the Embellishment Kit fit right along one of the layers in my background and worked perfectly for my title! I loved that the title was at an angle! It definitely helped add a little more visual interest to the layout! For final touches I added a few small hearts from the Simple Stories-Posh chipboard sheet included in the Embellishment Kit & a sprinkling of enamel dots from the Project Life Kit. I did also add machine stitching and my journaling using my WRMK Typecast Typewriter.
Now take a look at the video showing the process of how this all came together!
Thanks for joining me today!!
