I have a question…”Do you feel like getting messy?”. Today my answer was….yes! And this page was the result! Yeah!
Memories by Kim Watson
Inspired by one of the July 2016 PL kit journal cards, I decided to tap into my inner artist! The mist & paints from the July 2016 Color kit & triangle stencil from the June 2016 Color kit were perfect to achieve the look I saw in my head.
Using an old credit card, I first gessoed the background. Once dry I used the same credit card & applied teal paint. After that I added lime Shimmerz mist & yellow paint, creating an artsy, blended & layered look. Orange ink, applied with a sponge through the June stencil left a scattering of triangles around the page…just GORGEOUS!!
Layers really help this page look amazing. I used paper pieces & journal cards to do this. Ephemera die cuts & puffy stickers make the cutest photo corner & little Lawn Fawn silver plusses added understanded twinkle.
The Bella Boulevarde die-cut chipboard title looked too white on the page, so I painted it too. A little Shimmerz yellow with water was a simple way to ombre the title with fabulous results!
When adding my photo, I tried a double exposure effect by printing x2 of the same image & offsetting it slightly. It really works with the trendy vibe of the page.
I sure hope you like this layout as much as I do…I urge you to crack open your color kit & get messy, you might be pleasantly surprised with the results, just like I was .
