Heart Eyes & Florals

Hey, friends!  Missy back with you today, and I have a new layout featuring the 2016 August Hip Kits!  As you know, these kits are amazing (as always), and I was immediately drawn to all the floral elements.  I decided to go soft on this page since I always tend to go really bright.  I was first inspired the black doodled flower on one of the Project Life cards.  I decided to turn it into a digital cut file, so I took a picture of it and opened in my Silhouette software.  I traced it and cut it!  Easy peasy.  Before peeling the flowers of my cutting mat, I used some of the Prima Oil Pastels from the Color Kit.  They blended beautifully and I was able to create the matching colors for my page.  I did a lot of layering with the flowers & other embellishments and did a bit of watercolor work on the background.  That beautiful floral patterned paper is Dear Lizzy, and it’s included in Main Kit & Paper Kit.

Here’s a closer look at the flowers.  I love the colors and how they turned out!  I used several of the Happy Life die cuts, one of the Pink Paislee Take Me Away wood veneer hearts and several of the Amy Tan and Dear Lizzy clear stickers.  Those birds are just adorable!

I used the Prima Pastels to color this flower as well.  I fussy cut it out from the Project Life card after I made it into a cut file.  I used even more stickers and die cuts on this side of the page.  I also fussy cut another Project Life card to use as a layering piece behind the photo.

I am in love with all the clear stickers we get this month!  The colored ones look so good on a white background, and the black ones look great over anything!  My jouranling fit perfectly under the flower cluster here.

Here’s my process video if you’d like to see how this layout was put together.  I hope you get some inspiration from it!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
