Creating a Big & Bold Title

Happy Thursday, friends!  Missy back with you, and I have another layout to share using the 2016 July Hip Kits.  I was inspired this week by those adorable little round exclusive acrylic pieces.  I wanted to use them like confetti, and so I decided to scrap these fun summer photos that coordinated with the acrylic pieces.  I stuck with a mostly blue & pink color scheme with some light oranges & yellows added in.  I used only two pieces of patterned paper — both beautiful exclusive papers from the Main & Paper Kits.  I created the word “sunshiny” in my Silhouette software using the Alleana font, cut it out, backed it with paper and then hand-stitched around it using four different colors of embroidery thread.  I did a small bit of watercoloring around the photos using Shimmerz Jeni B Bleu and some plastic packaging.  The rest is lots of embellishments, including a fussy cut camera from one of the Project Life Kit cards.

Here you can see the stitching detail.  This is such a fun way to add texture and interest to your layout. It does take some time ,but the end result is worth it.  I added some of those gorgeous gold glitter Thickers to complete my title.  I also added a few of the Becky Higgins gold rub-ons & chipboard pieces as well as some Pink Paislee wood veneer pieces.

I’ve been waiting for just the right layout to use these Paige Evans Fancy Free glitter wood veneer.  This spot was perfect for the arrow.  It fit perfectly right here.  Here you can also see those cute acrylic circles, the fussy cut camera, the chipboard & exclusive die cut and the spray ink on the background.

How adorable is this exclusive flair from the Embellishment Kit?!  It was the perfect piece for this area.  I added a die cut tab to the photo as well as some bright pink tangled thread.  For an added layer under the photos, I used the exclusive stencil from the Color Kit and three Shimmerz sprays.  I fussy cut some of the design out and used it a s subtle layer.

Again, I was waiting for the perfect layout to use this awesome giant wood veneer button.  This was it!  I also fussy cut that paint stroke out from a PL card.  I also added another arrow rub-on, a small word die cut and an enamel heart.

I fussy cut this gorgeous pink flower from one of Kim Watson’s exclusive patterned papers.  I also added a piece of the exclusive washi tape which has the greatest consistency.  That cute frame is from the exclusive die cut pack.

Here’s one last look at the title and stitching.  I love creating large titles like this and working the photos & embellishments around it.

Here’s my process video if you’re interested in watching how I created this layout.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!
