We are honoring our Mother’s here on the Hip Kit Club blog this week, and this is my contribution using the last of my March 2016 kits!
“Use a trendy color palette & modern motifs to jazz up vintage photos.”
She Never Knew by Kim Watson
To start this page I grabbed Shimmerz Paints from the March Color kit & Feburary Color Kits painting & dripping yellow & blue paint in areas on the page. A stencil I made using my cutting machine & pink paint on a sponge added further triangle texture.
The secondary title actually came from a journal card. The colors worked perfectly to add part of my green accent color. Bold pink circles are part of our exclusive papers from this month’s Main kit & March 2016 Paper Kit. Rough pen doodles around the edges add a little pizzazz as does the layering with the cute Basic Grey cork stickers.
The American Crafts cork alphas were perfect for my large title. Those were from the March 2016 Embellishment kit. Did you notice the lovely black texture stamping around the page? It is a uber cute stamp from Pinkfresh Studio, included in the color kit. Layered with gauze flowers from the Basic Grey Ephemera pack, the black punch is exactly what my page needed to finish it off.
I really hope you have found this page inspiring enough to want to scrapbook a story from your Mom’s past, especially with Mother’s Day around the corner. Mixing the old with the new is a great way of updating my heritage albums, I urge you to try it too.
Thanks for stopping by, have a marvellous week!
