Hello, Christin here today to share with you a layout and a card with the April 2016 kits. Them of the week is Celebrating Mothers Week.  Again we are different in Norway – we don’t celebrate Mother’s Day the second Sunday in May – we celebrate Mother’s Day the second Sunday in February….

My prompt was Remember when I wanted to go back almost 9 years ago to  by newborn son and the journaling is about how it felt to be a mother and looking back these years.  I don’t have any nice pics of myself and my mother otherwise I would have tried to do a layout on how I looked at my mother when I was little.

For my background I did a mix of mists and the rubons from the April 2016 main kit.   I used the April Background cut file by Ashley H and to give it some contrast I drew thin black lines and some stars.

I used some embossing powder on the xoxo wood veneer.

I loved the scribbled letters.

A fun way to use the exclusive cut out pieces in the 2016 Embellishment kit is to use it as a layer.

This week I also made a card.  I traced the ampersand cut file by Kim Watson and just cut the outside out and filled it with on of the exclusive papers in the 2016 April Main kit. No mothers week theme here, it felt a little bit too long to save it until next February….

I used pieces from the Shimelle diectuts from the April 2016 main kit. Had fun stitching around the ampersand.. Of course I had to add a few drops of the green and  yellow mists from the 2016 ColorKit too…….

The 2016 NSD Hip Kit Club crop is only a week away and make magic happen while scrapbooking.
