Hey everyone, Raquel Bowman here today sharing a new layout with the December hip kits. Today I decided to use the January sketch as the basis for my design. For me the challenge of this sketch was using the 5 photos.
Here is what I come up with. I decided to document my daughters 3rd birthday again. This particular page is of the party table. So many yummy treats to have that a multi photo design was perfect for this.

This cute little bow in the Maggie Holmes Shine collection wood veneer was just calling to be altered. I used gold embossing powder to emboss this partially. I finished it with a gold heart from the Shine alpha stickers an the cute ‘rays’ from the glitter thickers. I also cut the flower chipboard in half and used half beside this cluster and the other half the opposite top corner.
Here is the remaining half. I also added a Heidi Swapp label, chipboard from the Maggie Holmes and Studio Calico packs and a glitter thicker heart. I also applied whipped spackle through a star stencil in a diagonal direction to add a bit of texture to the page . Finishing that with a splatter of Gold Lame Heidi Swapp mist.
The title was created using a combination of a Shine acetate die cut piece (don’t forget to peel off the plastic coating) and the Gold thicker phrases. Such a simple but statement title!
For this photo I decided to pop a couple of layers behind the photo. I used a mini doily from my stash and cut up some patterned papers to layer. I also used a Heidi banner label.
The love this day was from the Shine ephemera pack. Another one you need to peel the coating from! This was easy to attach with a bit of liquid adhesive as it dries clear.
The last photo was a larger photo as it was of the cake I made for the party. I decided to layer this with some of the patterned papers from the kit and a doily from my stash. This was adhered to the page with foam adhesive. I also embellished this with a handout ‘3’, a die cut tab and one of the Heidi Swapp clips.
