Happy New Year, friends! Missy here, and I’m sharing my first layout for 2016 using the December Hip Kits. I’m still madly in love with them, and I just had to use that awesome sheet of Heidi Swapp Rub-Ons from the Main Kit. I decided to create a confetti look by using almost all of them! Since my daughter is looking up in the photo, I created the confetti in that direction, so it appears that she’s looking at it. I colored two of the Heidi mistable labels with the Shimmerz paints from the Color Kit and used them as layers. I only used one piece of patterned paper, and that is at the top. I did a little bit of watercoloring behind the photos, but I kept it to a minimum to not take away from the confetti design.
Aren’t these rub-ons so neat? I love how they look like confetti or a starry night. I also added in some of the tiny wood veneer stars and painted them with Gold Color Shine from the November Color Kit. I used one of the gold glitter Thickers for my title.
I fussy cut the flower from one of the Project Life cards. I used another card as a layer behind the photos. I love that these Thickers are easily bendable and you can adhere them at an angle or even bend them.
These mistable tags are super easy to color. I just brushed the paint right onto them, and I didn’t use any gesso or anything first. These paints dry so shimmery and sparkly! And the tags make excellent layers. I added some cord from my stash to finish them off.
One final close up of the top of the layout…I added in one of the labels here that I cut in half. I used my water brush to add in a bit of the watercolor here and added a few more rub-ons.
Here’s my process video showing you how this layout came together. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
