Happy New Year Everyone!

Michelle here with my first post for 2016 and I am super excited to share a layout with you featuring the fab December 2015 Kits.  For this layout, I decided to use the “Star Cut File” designed by Nicole as a mask with texture paste.  I enlarged the cut file first to enlarge the stars and placed the mask above and below where my photo was going to be on the mint card stock from the Cardstock Add On.  Before the texture paste was completely dry I added a piece of the vellum to the top of the Mint cardstock to soften the colour a bit before I added more detail to my layout.

My layout is a photo of my daughter and I at a New Years Party which was a masquerade disco so I just loved how the gold frame and gold crown from the Maggie Holmes Shine Chipboard fitted the theme of the event perfectly.  I also cut out the word ‘Celebrate’ from same cut file and used it as part of my title.  I’m going to have to confess, the Glitter Washi tape was not my favourite item in the kit at first but once I started to use it – I found lots of cool ways to add this Washi to my layouts. Here, I hand cut some little triangles and added them as part of embellishment clusters.
