Turning 3 | December 2015 | Raquel Bowman

Hey everyone, Raquel Bowman here with a layout using the December kits. I have created this layout documenting my little girls third birthday. The December kit has been perfect for documenting this event with its creamy and soft pink tones which match the princess party theme of the birthday beautifully.

The pictures were from a little photo shoot I did with my daughter the morning of her party. In these images she was trying to show me that she was three on her fingers, but as we know our ring finger doesn’t like to stay up so she was giggling that it kept falling down. It was a cute little moment and I am glad I snapped it.

I layered the ephemera from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection and some of the cut outs from one of the patterned paper in a vertical direction. I stuck to cream, pink and mint tones. I added a pop of silver in too when embellishing as I just had to use those Freckled Fawn stickers.

The cut file running horizontally across the page is one I created from one of Nicole’s cut files for December. I decided to weld three of the hearts together to create a feature. I then backed them in a patterned paper and adhered them to the page with foam tape.

The three hearts and three photos worked well across the page. I highlighted the middle photo by applying that to the page with foam. I also backed it with a more neutral pattern from the 6×6 paper pad.

A page is not complete for me without a date or journaling so they were added with stamps and typewritten text.

I hope I have inspired you today to get creating with your December kits!
