Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend so far. We don’t have anything going on today – so I plan to scrap ALL DAY LONG… and I will share my layouts & cards with you later on this week. Today, I have a couple of super cute projects created by our wonderful, Cindy Stevens – using our December 2012 Hip Kit and Add-On Kits. Cindy’s layout is so bright and cheery! I love how she incorporated the bold yellow and grey polka dot paper into her page – by using it as a substantial border. It really makes a presence on her layout without overwhelming it. I also really like how all of the elements are her page are kind of askew – it gives a sense of whimsy to it – which is perfect for her photo. For those of you who have a linear style, try being a little more random with your placement – I think you will find it very freeing. The way she used a speech bubble as a part of her title was really clever. She also included several elements from the Seen & Note Phrase Card Pad (from our December Embellishment Add-On Kit) in her page. The “I’ll look back on this” was that pad – and she cut it down into a banner flag to work it into her layout. Each of the pages in that little book have a quote on one side and a basic patterned paper on the other (polka dot, grid & chevron). This is a great way to add a little pop of color to a project without cutting into a 12×12 piece of paper. Sometimes a little snip will do the trick.
This little card is super cute. You can easily use your December Hip Kit to get a jumpstart on your Valentines Day cards. Cindy cut the sentiment for her card out of the Phrase Card Pad. This one product will go a such a long way – you can easily use it along both past and future Hip Kits – which is a huge plus. If you don’t already have doilies in your stash… next time you are at Michael’s or Joann’s pick up a package of various size doilies. They are an inexpensive way to add a pretty little detail to your layouts and cards. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are feeling inspired to do something creative with your December Hip Kit. Tomorrow we will have another collection of projects to share with you – so make sure to come back so you don’t miss out. xo – Kimberly – |
