Hello, Crafty Friends,
Today I’m sharing a layout inspired by the beautiful Floral Die Set from the May 2024 releases. After seeing Kimberly’s Sunday Funday YouTube live event, I decided to use some of my previous Hip Kit Color Kits to create my own embellishments for my layout.

First, I covered white cardstock pieces with different inks; I used pre-treated cardstock – this made the application and the manipulation of the ink so much easier! Once the ink was applied, I splattered water droplets onto the cardstock squares – this lifted up some of the ink, creating a subtle pattern on the cardstock!
Once the ink dried, I ran the cardstock and die through my die-cutter. I love how those flowers and leaves came out!
Next, I ran the Brick Texture Die Set through my die cutting machine using white cardstock. I used the April 2024 Color Kit to ink these, creating an ombre effect. I started my layout adding these onto a patterned paper with a subtle floral design from the May 2024 Main Kit. I made sure that the diecut pieces overlapped to ensure they created a continuous curved design. I love how well they lined up, creating a practically seamless design!
Next, I added my photo and made a start with the embellishing. I created two large embellishment clusters with the diecut flowers and leaves – these spread from the top to the bottom of the page, following the curve of the Brick Texture diecut background. I added a few more embellishment pieces from the May Main Kit and the May Embellishment Kit to create a bit of variety with the different textures. I completed the layout by adding the title and scattered some enamel dots around the floral clusters.
