Ink Blending and Metal Dies

Hi everyone, Anke here with a new layout inspiration featuring the November 2023 Hip Kits. I created another Christmas themed layout using the papers and embellishments, which are included in the November Hip Kits. I also used some metal dies. I haven’t received the November metal dies yet but I found some similar dies in my stash, which I used instead of the “November 2023 Spruce and Holly Metal Die Set”.

I cut some leaves, twigs and berries from white cardstock. Then I colored these die cuts using ink pads and blending brushes. I started with the “Catherine Pooler Skylight Ink Pad” from the November Color Kit.

For the other leaves I used ink pads in other shades of green. Finally I colored the berries using the “Catherine Pooler Do-Si-Do Ink Pad”, which is also included in the November Color Kit. I cut the “February 2023 Slimline Lattice Background” twice from white cardstock, backed it with pieces of the “Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Feeling Jolly – Holly Jolly” paper and glued it on my layout .

Then I arranged the leaves and berries and adhered them.

I framed my photo  using a chipboard frame from the “Feeling Jolly – Chipboard Die Cuts” pack, which is included in the November Embellishment Kit.

I chose some ornament  and floral stickers from the “Feeling Jolly – Sticker Book” – also included in the November Embellishment Kit – glued them on white cardatock and cut them out.

For my title I chose a word die cut from the “Feeling Jolly – Ephemera ” pack, which you can find in the November Main Kit, cut out the banner and placed it on my page. I glued the title banner on white cardstock and cut it out leaving a white border so it stands out.

Then I added a piece of the red pom pom trim to the bottom of the chipboard frame.I picked out a tag and two candy cane die cuts, which I added to my title banner. I wanted to create a banner with my framed photo, the ornament stickers, the tag and some chipboard die cuts, so I pierced holes in the die cuts and added a piece of red twine.

I attached the ends of the twine with a stapler. Then I continued embellishing the layout with some puffy stickers, which are included in the November Embellishment Kit.

I added a puffy phrase sticker – included in the November Main Kit – to one of the floral stickers and placed it on the leaves on top of the layout. Then I placed another  floral sticker on the right side of the tag.

Finally I add some stars from the “Feeling Jolly – Ephemera” pack, which is included in the November Main Kit.

This is my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to create with our metal dies and ink pads.
