Hi friend. There is a new mood board challenge on the Hip Kit Club Facebook group which has pretty festive inspiration for your next layout.
The mood board co-ordinates with the November 2023 kits perfectly and I was inspired by the presents which go under a Christmas tree.
To create the tree feature it actually very easy with a little know-how. You’ll need a square piece of patterned paper – mine is 6 1/2″. You’ll need to fold the paper diagonally in half so you have a right-angle triangle.
Turn the triangle so that the folded edge running along the top and the right hand side is vertical. Cut along from the outer edge towards the centre running parallel with the vertical side. Make even cuts across the triangle (it’s best to watch the video below). Once opened, the fringed pieces are then folded towards the centre and glued into place.
It makes a stunning centrepiece for a layout. I decorated mine with baubles and silver stars from the November 2023 Main Kit.
For the main photo mat, I outlined the circle with the sweet pom pom trim from the main kit also. I love the way it draws attention to the centre.
