Hi Hip Kit fans! It’s Natsuko Suzuki here sharing a layout using the 2023 August Hip Kits. Here is my layout.

Today I want to show two ways to use the Honeycomb Texture Metal Die. The First is to use it as a stencil. I think this is a familiar way to use it, but here is a technique to make it look more natural. I cut two pieces with two colors from the Cardstock Kit.
I cut the edges randomly from each piece to make the stencil slightly different from each other. Then I applied the Catherine Pooler Inks from the February Color Kit and March Color Kit. I often use a dishwashing sponge to apply the ink. The trick is to cut the sponge in a round shape. In this way you won’t have to deal with harsh edges.

The second way is to use them as layers. I used the pieces I used as stencils but cut them in half randomly so the shapes will be different from each other. I placed them near the inked background and adhered them with tape adhesives. If the shapes look alike turning it around is another fun way.

For embellishments, I cut some honeycomb shapes from the Oh Honey Paper and put adhesive foam on the back to add dimension. I also used bits and pieces from the Chipboard Shapes, Puffy Shapes, Ephemera Shapes and the Cardstock Layered Foam Phrase Stickers for the title.

I thought it was too plain to leave the background white, so I cut half inches from each side and added cardstock; the two colors I used for the honeycombs and adhered it to the layout. I also added chain stitching for more interest.

This is an easy and fun way to use textured dies and I love how it turned out! I will post a reel in my Instagram so you can see the process. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week! Natsuko Suzuki xxx
