Let’s Make a Monochrome Layout

Hi friends!

I’m so happy to show you my latest layout. This time a monochrome layout. I love creating monochrome layouts, somehow I often start creating and when I’m done, I realise that it’s a monochrome one. Monochrome doesn’t mean you can’t use any other color, you always can add one color, so I chose yellow and orange for this one.

I wanted to make a summery layout and I love torn paper so I decided to start with gathering the yellow and orange papers from the kit and cut it up in different sized rectangles. Then I tore the edges in a way that the white part was on the back. The white parts you see in the photo are leftover pieces and I tucked them in-between the layers, the white made them stand out a bit more.

After I taped all the layers together, I backed the photo and placed it on the left side of the layers. I always see what the “direction” of the photo is. In this photo the empty space is on the right. By placing the photo on the left, the empty space of the photo is on the side where the empty space of the layout is (if that makes any sense).

To complete the monochrome look I picked the yellow and orange embellishments from the July Main kit. The layered stickers are my favourite!! They are the cutest!

I used that gorgeous sunburst paper as a background. I rarely (actually never) use a patterned paper as a background, but this beauty was the perfect match for the monochrome look.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you next time, have a great day!
