Hello again, friends! It’s Jana Eubank. I’m back with another layout using the June 2023 Hip Kits. Today I am altering the design of a patterned paper to add dimensional interest to my page design. Watch the video below to see which paper I altered!
Patterned paper is my favorite scrapbooking supply and Hip Kit Club makes the BEST! For this layout, I was inspired by the aqua ‘Go Wild’ paper to cut and fold diamond-shaped windows along the printed pattern. Scroll down for a detailed photo to see what I mean.
I used a craft knife to cut along two sides of the white triangles printed on the paper. Then, I scored the third side of the triangle, allowing me to fold back triangle-shaped flaps, revealing the orange floral pattern printed on the opposite side. I added the pale blue ‘Let’s Travel’ paper behind for additional color. Once these papers were layered together, I continued with my page design like normal. It’s a simple detail that adds a LOT of impact!
Hip Kit Club creates the most BEAUTIFUL floral papers with each collection. If you know me, you know I LOVE to fussy-cut so you know that I HAD to fussy-cut the florals from the ‘Nature Lover’ paper to use as accents on several projects. Here, they are adorning the left side of my page title.
I used the glitter foam stickers from the June 2023 Main Kit for the title. I matted the script ‘Outdoor’ word with the Wandering Pink cardstock (Cardstock Kit) to help it stand out against the diamond paper.
The Main Kit this month includes these ADORABLE mini envelopes in all kinds of colors and patterns. I used one on this layout to hold the journaling.
The bottom-right corner of my photo is accented with more fussy-cut florals and a bunch of feather die-cuts (Main Kit) tied together with white twine. I used the Scallop Border Die to add a purple scallop (Trippy Plum cardstock from the Cardstock Kit) under the right edge of the layered papers. I LOVE how this design cuts a ‘rainbow’ into each scallop. I lifted them up with my fingers to add more texture to the page.
The result is a super-cute page documenting my daughter at Girls Camp getting ready to go ‘Snipe Hunting’. They have their war paint on and their pillowcases ready to capture those tricky, little snipes. *wink*
