LET’S GET MESSY WITH MIXED MEDIA | NATSUKO SUZUKI | 2023 HIP KITS

Hi Hip Kit fans! It’s Natsuko Suzuki here sharing a mixed media layout using the 2023 June Hip Kits, the April Color Kit and the February Lattice Die. Here is my layout.

For the background, I chose the Summit Snow Cardstock from the June Cardstock Kit. I love the cardstock kit because there is a light pattern on one side and a solid color on the other. I chose the patterned side for this one. Then I cut out the chevron patterns from the Fly High Paper and created diamond shapes with them. I layered the diamond shapes and put foam stickers in between for dimension. (The one on top must be slightly bigger so that the other one would show.)  Before I adhered them to the background, I did some mixed media. I found a die which is a perfect match with this diamond shape. The Slimline Lattice Background Metal Die. I cut it with white cardstock and cut the edges and used it as a template. The paints I used are the Pixie Wings Nuvo Glacier Paste (Glimmering Texture Paste) and the Gold Rush Metallic Acrylic Paint. After it had dried, I used the IKAT Layered Stamp Set and added some more patterns. This Stamp set is to create an IKAT pattern by layering them but this time I used them individually.  In this way I used three similar patterns with paper, a die and stamps. For Embellishments I used the Chipboard Die Cuts and Ephemera. Here are some close-ups.

I focused on shapes for this layout, and I love how the different kits go together so well!

I hope this inspires you in some way and thank you so much for stopping by! I will post a reel in my Instagram so you can see the process. Have a nice week!
