Hello, friends! It’s Jana Eubank. Today I am sharing my latest layout using the Hip Kit Club April Kit. Well, actually, I used a piece of patterned paper from the April Kit combined with lots of stamps, stencils, and dies. I guess I was in a technique sort of mood for this page and I had so much fun creating it! You can watch the process video by clicking on the image below!

 

I began the layout by creating floral accents to use on my layout using the October 2022 Color Kit by Hip Kit Club. This flower kit coordinates with one of the patterned papers in the April Kit, where you can use the die to cut out the florals. The Color Kit also comes with layering stencils and an outline stamp.

 

I used the Catherine Pooler Inks we’ve been receiving in the kits during February and March to color the flowers using the October 2022 Color Kit stencils. Next, I stamped the outline image over the top, embossing it with white embossing powder. Then, because the inks are water-reactive, I added large droplets of water over the floral images along with white paint splatters. The results are GORGEOUS!

 

Before adding my florals and photos to the page I used the ‘Pixie Wings’ Nuvo Glacier Paste from the April Color Kit to create three ‘shelves’ to anchor each row of photos. This is the first time I have used Glacier Paste and it is so much FUN! I felt like I was adding swipes of sparkly purple eyeshadow to my layout!

I then used more white embossing powder to stamp the background with the April Newsprint Texture Stamp and Coffee Stain Stamp. It turned out AWESOME!

 

I used the February Nested Hearts Dies to create a base for my title. I die-cut the large heart from the Thistle Cardstock (April Cardstock Kit). The smaller heart is die-cut from white cardstock. I used the April Floral Vine stencil (April Color Kit) and the ‘Sixteen Candles’ Catherine Pooler ink to add a subtle pattern to the white heart before adding the title. The title was created using puffy letter stickers from the February and March Main Kits. I LOVE how all of the Hip Kits work so well together!

I wanted to add a bit more variety to the rows of photos, so I die-cut a white layer of cardstock using the February 2023 Background Lattice Die. I then created journaling strips on my computer using a typewriter-style font.

I used a few of the die-cut shapes from the April Pocket Life Kit to accent the photos, then sprinkled lime green puffy dots (January Embellishment Kit) and ‘Lemon Twist’ Nuvo Dream Drops (April Color Kit) around the floral pieces.
