Hey friends! I’m excited to share my new layout for Mixed Media Monday! I love Mixed Media Mondays! I enjoyed working with all the exclusives and a perfectly sized metal die to cut both patterned paper and a stamped floral cluster. I hope you are inspired and will share your projects made using these beautiful kits! I have details below and a link to the full process video at the end. Have a beautiful and creative day!

I started this layout by creating floral clusters using the Floral Cluster stamp, Floral Cluster layered stencil, and the Floral Cluster metal die, all from the October 2022 Hip Kits. I used the Catherine Pooler inks from the last few months’ Color Kits to color the image and easily cut it out with the metal die. I also used this same die to cut out floral clusters from one of the patterned papers in the April Main Kit. I love that the metal die can be used in multiple ways because of the clever planning that goes into the Hip Kit Club creations!

I then used the same Catherine Pooler inks to create my background. I simply swiped the ink pads across the page in rainbow order. I used mixed media cardstock for the background, and this allowed me to go back with water to lift some of that ink and give it a splotchy effect. I also used water and more of the ink to add splatters and drips in each color.

I tore two thick strips on patterned paper from the April Main Kit to go down the center of my page. This acted as the base for everything else on the page. I added my sweet photos from our family Jamaica trip and offset them to the left. I used the floral clusters as the base for the clusters on the page. I also added in some of the fabric flowers from the April kits! These are beautiful, and I love the texture they add to the page.

I used ephemera for my title and to add a few more details to the page!

I added some Pops of Color from my stash, along with Nuvo drops from the November Color Kit, to add detailing to the flowers and around the clusters. I love the final layout and how it is the perfect mix of Hip Kit exclusives and my own embellishments I created with products from the kits!
