Hello Hip Kit friends !
It’s Sophie on the blog today with a new layout to share !
Today is a « Technique Focus » day and I want to show you how I used the beautiful Catherine Pooler Inks in the March 2023 color kit as watercolors for my background.
I used a thick 12×12 white cardstock that can take a lot of water (it’a from a 14×17 mixed media pad bought in a craft store; no preparation needed.)
I first stamped some ink on an acetate. I added a lot of water to the background cardstock and to the inks with a brush. Then, I apply the diluted inks on the background and played with the different colors. I chose the Catherine Pooler – Pixie Dust Candles and Oh Boy – Mini Dye Ink Pads from the kit. I added more water, splatters of ink, let everything run on my page and dried gently with my heat tool.
It creates a very soft effect, I love it !
I also used the beautiful HKC Exclusive – Limited Addition -Floral Heart Metal Die that I cut twice on white cardstock and backed with velum paper to embellish around the black and white photo.
I used the HKC Exclusive – Harmony – Bubblegum & Lt. Pink Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers (March Pocket Life kit) and the Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Life In Bloom – Rub-Ons (March Embellishment kit) for my title, and used many elements from the Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Life In Bloom – Sticker Book (March Embellishment kit) to complete my page.
Here are more close-ups:
I am so happy with the result and hope you like it too !
Don’t hesitate to use your inks as watercolour paint on your next page !
Thank you for stopping by, don’t forget to check out a reel of the process for this page on the HKC Instagram account soon and on mine @so_scrappy today !
Until next time,
Sophie xx
