Hi Hip Kit fans! Natsuko Suzuki here to share a new layout. I was supposed to use the March kit, but my package has not arrived yet so I’m using the February Hip Kits.
I started by cutting out hearts with the nested heart metal dies. I folded them and made flowers.

Before I adhered the flowers I painted the background with Catherine Pooler inks.
The inks are water soluble, so they create a watercolor effect. I wanted the flowers to stand out, so I kept the colors very soft.
I added chipboard pieces and vellum die cuts.
I think some people are intimidated to do heavy mixed media, but this is a way to use inks in a subtle way so I hope everyone can give it a try!
