Hi, Scrappy Friends!
I’m excited to share my new layout for Mixed Media Monday! I love Mixed Media Mondays, and I had fun scraplifting the talented Rebecca Moore for this layout! I loved working with all the exclusives in the February Hip Kits. I hope you are inspired and will share your projects made using these beautiful kits! I have a link to the full process video at the end of this post.
I scraplifted the layout below by Rebecca Moore. I used her basic layout and similar elements to create a similar look.
I started by using mixed media on the same February Hip Kit Exclusive cutfile that Rebecca used. I used mediums from Shimmerz Paints the paint the layers of the cutfile. I also added texture to the word “Love” using a texture folder from my stash. This helped highlight the shimmer of the mediums.
I added a circular photo and clusters of flowers in the same composition as the original layout. I used chipboard flowers and fussy cut floral clusters from a patterned paper from the February Main Kit. Behind the clusters, I used the Catherine Pooler inks from the February Color Kit to create the foundation of color. The background is a patterned paper from the Main Kit, and I applied a thin layer of white gesso before I added any mediums to the layout.
I added a touch of hand-stitching using the French knot stitch to attach the vellum butterflies to the layout. I also added sequins and crystals from my stash to embellish the clusters of flowers.
I have more details and information in the full process video linked below.
I hope you have a beautiful and creative day! XO – Sarah
