Hello everyone, today we are focussing on the beautiful February moodboard. In addition, the design team was challenged to use at least five different patterned papers. Now, that was a true challenge for me as I tend to use less paper and more embellishments, First of all, I picked my most favourite papers from the gorgeous December kits. Looking at the papers I had the idea to have strips with different kinds of texture – that way it would look playful yet organised. The strips were cut at different width but all have the same height.
For the first strip I did not want to distract from the pretty watercolour ombre effect, so I die cut hearts from an additional strip and layered them with foam pads.
The second strip was simply stitched down and became home to my journaling. The third strip with the delicate snowflake pattern I decided to cut tiles of the same paper and added them with foam pads for dimension. These were then embellished with the glittery Nuvo Drops. I love them so much, my bottle is already half gone.
The fourth strip was again stitched down using my sewing machine; it is the quiet space or breathing room on the layout with just a little chipboard piece at the top. Finally, the fifth paper with the stunning floral patterned, well, I just had to fussy cut some of the flowers and layer them up. I added a few puffy sticker sprigs and die cut flowers for more interest and topped the flowers off with Nuvo Drops.
Since the whole design is on the vertical I added the title in the same orientation. We had snow for just one Saturday morning this year and luckily, we went sledging in the park right after breakfast. By noon the whole spectacle was over again. Just a fleeting moment… I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with beautiful fleeting moments, xx, Melanie
