Mood Board Sunday

Happy Sunday!  I’m sharing my take on this month’s Mood Board Challenge.  This mood board has some pretty awesome eye candy!  We are scrapping about childhood memories of our own, so I dug super deep to find this photo of myself taken circa 1974; I would’ve been almost 2yrs old when this was taken!

I’ve used the colors from the mood board and kept the design fairly simple.  I began with the herringbone wood patterned paper and a few other pieces as the base; the photo is definitely vintage, and I wanted to try to keep in line with that with the papers!

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

The colors in the kit are pretty, muted pastels with fresh floral designs.  So, it was a tiny bit of a challenge to get that vintage feel, but the wood, and peach and turquoise additions add just the right touch!

I’ve used HKC exclusive metal circle and tag dies to add around the photo; the flowers have been fussy-cut from the patterned paper “Winter Floral.”

I’ve pulled elements from several of our other kits to scatter throughout the layout including the title.  I love the smaller puffy alphas that are included in the December Pocket Life Kit.

To bring a little of the colors from the photo (also in the mood board-cinnamon sticks), I’ve added some brown acrylic ink drops to finish the page!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you’ve enjoyed my take on this month’s Mood Board and been inspired to get those older photos scrapped!!
