Hi crafty friends! Michelle here on the Hip Kits Blog today. I am happy to show you my new layout that I created using the gorgeous Hip Kit 2021 December Kits. For this layout I was inspired by the beautiful mood board. The colors totally appealed to me, as well as the scene with the river and the winter walk outside in nature.
Fittingly, I have chosen wintry photos. I wanted to use multiple photos on this layout without placing them in different places as I often do. That’s when the metal dies of the snow globe came to me just right. On the one hand, it fits perfectly with the statement of my layout, and on the other hand, I wanted the upper part of the snow globe to appear three-dimensional, as it does in real life. Accordingly, I punched out several photos and papers in the shape of a circle, folded and glued so that a ball is formed. Depending on the side from where the layout is viewed, different photos are visible.
On the layout itself, I first designed the flow and added stitches to the edges. Then I designed the snow globe and the title above the snow globe. Then I cut out flowers and used them and Puffy stickers to create the space around the snow globe.
I wanted to design the rest of the space around the river with trees, fitting the mood board. For this I used the amazing die cuts out of the Hip Kit December 2021 Kit. Since I had too less of them for my purposes, I first put them as a template on a white piece of cardstock and drew the outlines. This gave me the opportunity to cut out more trees from the cardstock and create more plain white trees on the layout.
Lastly, I used leftover Puffy stickers to create a few small stones by the trees and added some snowflakes.
I wish you a beautiful, creative Sunday! Thank you for stopping by. Best, Michelle
