The subscriber cut files are a fantastic free resource to spark creativity.  As a subcriber you have access to all the files in the library!  I fell in love with the Layered Snow Scene from the November release.  It’s so clever and is an amazing centre-piece for my layout.

To begin with, I opened each of the layered files in my cutting software to resize the design.  There are 4 layers to the design, but I’ve only used 3 to give me some space at the front. Each layer was cut in a slightly darker colour.   I also cut a circle out of the background cardstock.  To make the scallop  border, I joined circles together in the cutting software. I then ‘sliced’ through the cirles and removed half so it cut on the lower edge only.

For the final layer at the back of the design, I firstly blended ink onto white cardstock – darker at the bottom.  To add some sparkle, I spread the Nuvo Glacier Paste through the pretty stencil from December’s colour kit. The background is so shiny which is difficult to photograph!

The layers are adhered with foam in between which gives the scene some depth. I arranged the title around the aperture using the alphas from the Pocket Life kit.

The photo is framed using one of the chipboard frames from the December Main kit, adding die-cuts from the main kit in a cluster. The Nuvo drops from the December Color kit look like little snowballs.

To balance out the layout, I added pretty die-cut flowers from December Embellishment kit to the bottom right hand side, adding the pretty acetate snowflake stickers, Nuvo drops for depth and detail.

To finish off, I flicked white paint over the background and embellishment clusters.  I used the Nuvo Drops and Nuvo Glacier paste together to add snowy tops to the houses, trees and flowers.

Although this layout took a little time to make I absolutley love the result. Thanks so much for stopping by.
