Hello everyone, today we are scrapbooking new year’s resolutions and I am focussing on the Project Life cards. First of all, I have two confessions: one is that I have not chosen a word for the year (the past two years were full of surprises and challenges so this year I want to go with the flow and not force anything) and secondly, my December kits have only just arrived. Since the October kits were my favourite so far, I thought what better kit to start into a new year. Thus the layout was created using the October main and PL kits.

My only true resolution is to make magic as often as we can (magic and sparkle were both words that I have lived with in previous years and they served me really well). The kits then had the perfect chipboard stickers and word die cuts to finish the title: Let’s make magic together today, tomorrow, everyday. That really speaks to me and makes me happy.

Now for the PL cards I wanted to play with cut outs and negative space. The first card on the left had a pink skull paper outline which I cut off and repurposed as stalks for my bouquet. On the second, pink card I cut around the leaves to get a softer edge.

On the third, blue card I die cut a heart from the centre and then attached it, slightly offset, with foam pads. I also wrapped twine around the white journaling part of the card and tucked in a tea pot, because if I have learned one thing during my many years in the United Kingdom then it is, that a good cup of tea can solve any problem.

Eventually, the fourth, yellow card had a white circle in the centre which I punched out and then reattached with foam pads overlapping the blue card. On the half circle that remained after I put my photo in the centre of the card arrangement I wrote the year.

A few embellishments and a trio of Nuvo Drops and the layout was done. I hope this inspires you to use your PL cards in different ways and that you find some time to be creative today,

xx, Melanie
