It’s Sophie here and I have a beautiful layout and my step by step process to share for Mixed Media Monday !

The design team prompt today is to incorporate border punches on our project.
I focussed on the Nuvo Auburn Pearl Crystal Drops from the October Color kit for my page.
I started by creating horizontal lines with a washi tape from my stash and used it as a mask on thick white cardstock.
Then, I applied the Nuvo Crystal Drop between the washi lines and scraped it with a palette knife. I let it dry, and removed the washi tape.
It let me with very shimmery auburn horizontal lines and those were the starting point of my design. I watered down the Nuvo Crystal drops to add splatters to the background. I also used the Nuvo Pecan Peach Mica Mist for that purpose.
I selected different HKC Exclusive Sweater Weather patterned papers from the October Paper kit and used a few punches from my stash to cut scalloped borders out of them. I also used a few branding strips and a cardstock from the October Cardstock kit.
I placed the borders in between the Nuvo Drops lines in a diagonal design as shown here:
I stitched each border with matching thread for a little something extra !
I placed my photo in the center of the paper strips, adding tissue paper and adhesive foam behind it.
I fussy cut beautiful florals out of the HKC Exclusive Sweater Weather Pumpkin Spice Paper (October Paper kit) and created two clusters of embellishments around my photo. I also added gorgeous pumpkins from the Sweater Weather Ephemera pack (October Main kit).
My title is from the Sweater Weather Chipboard Phrases (Main kit) and the Sweater Weather Chipboard Stickers (Pocket Life kit).
I also used numerous Clear Mini Phrase Stickers (Pocket Life kit) that I sticked down on the Nuvo Drops lines.
Finally, I printed my journaling in navy blue on velum and cut it into strips that I placed in between the scalloped borders.

Very different, non messy mixed media today ! It doesn’t have to be all over the place to make it a beautiful addition to a project!
