Hi friends.  We have a beautiful sketch this week – a perfect start for my shiny new October kits which I received this week.  It is always so exciting to unbox a new kit and stroke all the papers and embellishments!  The October kits are stunning with an amazing mix of embellishments and all of it exclusive!

This week’s sketch features a large title  – I thought a hand-stitched title would  add a homespun feel to my autumnal photo.

To make the stitching template, I designed the title on my computer.  I overlaid the title onto the Village Fair paper and then I poked holes at regular intervals to create a stitching template.

The stitching was a real labour of love! I used brown embroidery floss and a chain stitch following the design.  This design took about 3 hours to stitch but I do think it was worth the effort. I completed the title with the puffy stickers from the Pocket Life kit and cardstock sticker from the Embellishment kit.

The October kits are filled with gorgeous autumnal leaves and elements in muted colours.  I picked out some leaves from the Embellishment kit to tuck behind my photo, gently curling them to add some dimension.

I positioned two leaves below the title to help lead the eye down and across the page to the bottom left cluster. This cluster is made up of die cuts from the Embellishment and Pocket Life kits. I added a wooden button to the tree for a little extra detail.
