Hello everyone, today I have a layout for you focussing on the PL Kit only. Since the PL cards are small I decided to arrange them along the edges of the layout. This automatically gave me plenty of small spaces to embellish according to colour.
For added interest I cut some of the leaves from the Leaves & Acorns and the word grateful from the Always Grateful exclusive cut file designed by Kim Watson which you can find in the subscriber section of the Hip Kit Club website. I used the negative part of the leaf cut file as a stencil on the two white cards to add some colour behind the leaves. The yellow colour came from the August mixed media add-on ink pads.
Since the denim PL card had a stitching detail printed on it I chose to add actual stitching to the other cards. The photos were positioned within this PL card frame tucked under the title “grateful”. Then I stuck some of the exclusive clear stickers onto vellum and cut them out so that I could use them as transparent die cuts. I had a strip of vellum lying on my desk and decided to accordion fold it to create two little bows for the white sections.
On the denim card I wanted to create some more texture so I punched some little hearts and used dimensional foam pads to scatter them around.
Eventually I added some doodled tiny circles and hearts as a finishing touch. Dividing a layout into different sections always creates natural homes to add details, photos and the story and I really like this modified version of a grid layout. I hope it inspires you to get creative today.
Take care! xx, Melanie
