Hi friends. We have a great colour challenge this week – shades of orange – perfect for autumn. As Halloween isn’t far away, I took the opportunity to scrap an old memory too. I used the stunning September kits.
The subscriber cut files are a wonderful resource to add a special touch to your page. I cut out the cobweb which makes a great base to add clusters of orange leaves.
I also cut out lots of the leaves from the October cut files. I left the leaves on my cutting mat ready for colouring. I mixed Shimmerz from previous colour kits with water and painted the leaves randomly. By allowing the colours to mix and layers to dry, you’ll get a lovely watrcolour effect for added texure and interest.
To increase the colour intensity of some of the leaves, I blended orange ink and then flicked splashes of ink here and there. I love texture and detail, so I manipulated the leaves, bending and shaping them before layering in clusters. The clear stickers in the September Pocket Life kit add a great contrast to the orange.
I tucked in other ephemera and stickers here and there. The gorgeous wooden number stickers in the Embellishment Kit was perfect as a title. I added the totally cute tiny hearts around the clusters.
I have created a video of my complete process for you. I’ll show you how I coloured the leaves to achieve those gorgeous colours and textures as well as how I ended up doodling a spider for a real personal touch.
I hope you have enjoyed the video and like the ideas for your own projects. Thank you so much for stopping by.
