MOOD BOARD INSPIRED SUNDAY | BRIANNA LEPPER | SEPTEMBER 2021 HIP KITS

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper back with you today sharing a new layout using this months mood board as inspiration.  This will be my second layout using the mood board and I do have to say that even though I’ve already created with it, there was still so much more inspiration to be had!  It makes me want to create a third layout to see what else I can make using it.  For this page, I used the beautiful September 2021 Hip Kits and I had so much fun with it.  Make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post to see how this page came together.

Here’s the October Mood Board:

Before I started designing this page, I sat and took a really good look at the mood board and then I went through the elements in the kits.  I hadn’t had a chance to use the exclusive ephemera found in the September Embellishment Kit yet, so I knew right away that I wanted to incorporate it somehow.  I was immediately inspired by the flowers in the top left square and how they were positioned in the frame.  So to mimic that photo, I fussy cut the circle floral piece in one of the Pinkfresh Studio patterned papers and then layered a few other papers underneath it..  To give it more interest, I popped the whole thing up on foam tape.  I did the same thing up on the top of my page using the smaller half of that circle piece.

The photos I chose for this page are of my boys first and last days of the 2019-2020 school year.  It was a pretty hard year due to the start of the pandemic and I just hadn’t felt up to scrapping these photos for some reason.  But I thought they’d be perfect since there are a lot of fun school themed elements in the kits.

Here’s a look at the second circle up at the top of my page.  I think it really brought everything together!

The books and apples in the mood board also caught my eye and I incorporated them into my layout.  I fussy cut the apples from the exclusive Teachers Pet patterned paper and layered those into my clusters.

For my title, I used the alphas from the September Main Kit and the September Pocket Life Kit.  I arranged them in between my two half circle pieces and thought they looked so cute.  It’s definitely something I usually don’t do (position titles in open areas like that) and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.  Do you like to step out of your comfort zone and do something out of the norm?  You should try it!  It’s fun to change things up sometimes.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have you picked up the September 2021 Kits yet?  You totally should!  There’s so many gorgeous exclusives mixed right in with The Best Day collection by Pinkfresh Studio.  They really do go so well together!  See you next time friends!
