CUT FILE TUESDAY | BRIANNA LEPPER | SEPTEMBER 2021 HIP KITS

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout for Cut File Tuesday using the September 2021 Hip Kits as well as a brand new October cut file (they will be available to download shortly).  Did you know that if you’re a subscriber, there are free cut files you can download on the website?  If you’re not a subscriber, don’t worry!  There are free cut files available to you too!  Simply log in or create an account on the HKC website to access.  Let’s get to my layout!

To start, I cut the “Boo” cut file out on white textured cardstock and then I used the smooshing technique to get the Shimmerz Paints colors from the September 2021 Color Kit on to the entire cut file.  I just love using this technique!  It really gives the cut file a whole new look, one that you don’t really get if you were to either spray or paint the color on.  After the cut file was finished drying, I took a black gel pen and created some faux stitching and then added some highlights using my white gel pen.

Here’s another shot of the cut file:

I got out another piece of white textured cardstock and took both the Cotton Candy Spritz and Mango Tango Vibez and lightly sprayed each color onto the paper.  This created a pretty subtle background.  I added some black paint splatters to tie everything together and bring in some of the black faux stitching.

I matted my photo using a few Pocket Life cards from the Pocket Life Kit and created an embellishment cluster right next to my photo using some of the exclusive puffy phrases  (Main Kit).  I also pulled in some of the floral ephemera from The Best Day collection by Pinkfresh Studio (Embellishment Kit).

I created a second embellishment cluster to the left of my design using one of the exclusive fabric pocket die cuts (Main Kit).  I tucked in more of the floral ephemera by Pinkfresh Studio and then embellished the outside of the pocket with some Pinkfresh chipboard (Embellishment Kit) and puffy stickers (Pocket Life Kit).

To finish my page off, I created one more embellishment cluster at the top of my cut file using the same pieces as I did in my first two clusters.  I added enamel dots as a finishing touch and that completed it!

One last shot of this super fun layout.  Isn’t Luna the Dinosaur so cute?  This photo makes me smile so big!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way.  Have you painted directly onto a cut file or have you tried the smooshing technique?  It’s so fun to get messy and creative and I hope that you’ll give it a try!  See you in my next post friends!
