Happy Monday everyone !!! This is Jennifer here today with a new Mixed Media Monday layout featuring the September 2021 kits. I totally fell in love with the exclusive gray “No Sneaking Around” pattern paper from the September Days collection by Kim & Kimberly so I went from there.

I then bleached and slightly blurred this patterned paper in the center with Gesso to bring light. I added branch patterns with the stencil from the September Color Kit and the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Lemon Sorbet from the June 2021 Color Kit which is still available. I also added other number patterns with a stencil from my reserve and Modeling Paste which I then embossed with silver powder. I love the different textures and colors of this background.

I then prepared all the elements of my decoration. I couldn’t resist the fussy cut of these leaves from the “Hello Fall” patterned paper from The Best Day collection by Pinkfresh Studio. I cut some frames from the same gray patterned paper as the background. I also embossed several wood veneer numbers from the embellishment kit with silver powder and I prepared the photo by adding blue and yellow cards from the Pocket Life Kit below. I just have to put everything in place!

So I glued the photo in the center of my page. I added at the top left and bottom right of the photo a few frames that I interlaced. Then I inserted the leaves into these frames to create clusters of leaves on either side of the photo.
I glued the words “Happy Day!” Puffy Stickers from the Main Kit, along the photo on each side, then I added the wood veneer numbers next to them, arranging them at random. I added two Cardstock Stickers from the Pocket Life Kit directly on the photo as well as a Die Cuts ticket and a wood veneer heart.
I inserted a few blue leaves into the cluster of leaves to add contrast. I finished the background by adding blue ink starting from the photo towards the edge of the page at the top and bottom. And a little ink also next to the wood veneer numbers. It brings color, contrast and I find this gray / yellow / blue combo just superb!

I ended up adding here and there some Enamels Dots Pinkfresh studio from Pocket Life Kit and touches of blue inks to harmonize everything. I loved making this masculine page with different textures. It’s always a bit difficult for me not to insert flowers but the leaves fulfill their contract very well! It’s a great alternative I find.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope this inspires you for a future project. I wish you a wonderful week full of creativity!
