Hi everyone,  Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration featuring the August Hip Kits.

My September kits came a few days ago, so this is the last layout I made with the August kits and I decided to use many of the summer themed embellishments which are included in the   kits.

I started with the Prima Marketing Canvas Resist Boards which are included in the August Main Kit and painted them. Therefore I used the yellow and blue Catherine Pooler ink pads which you can find in the August Color Kit. I applied the ink on a piece of foil, added water with a paint brush, mixed the colors to get a light blue and green tone and then painted the canvas boards.

While the paint was drying I made some fringe borders using the paper from the packaging of the canvas boards because I like the color and the pattern.

Then I glued a piece of the canvas boards on top of each fringe border and two narrow strips of the canvas boards on top and bottom of my layout.

I placed the fringe borders on my page and added my photo. Then I embellished each border with lots of die cuts from the Simple Stories – Sunkissed – Bits & Pieces Ephemera pack, which is included in the August Main Kit and the Simple Stories – Sunkissed – Chipboard Accent Stickers, which you can find in the August Embellishment Kit.

Before adhering  the embellished fringe borders I  wanted to add color to the background of my layout. I mixed the colors of the ink pads like I did, when I painted the canvas boards and applied it with a paint brush. I also tucked small pieces of white tull behind each fringe border.

Finally I added one of the Vicki Boutin Color Study Cardstock Stickers, which are included in the August Embellishment Kit and some of the Prima Marketing – Nature Lover Adhesive Gems, which you can find in the August Main Kit.

Here you can see my finished layout. I’m really happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it too. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a great day,

Anke xx
