MIXED MEDIA MONDAY | SOPHIE DELORME | AUGUST 2021 HIP KITS

Hello crafty friends !

It’s Mixed Media Monday !

Sophie on the blog and I am sharing a colourful new layout !

I used the August 2021 kits  for this. Here is my process:

I started by creating my mixed media background using a thick white cardstock and the three Catherine Pooler Full Size ink pads that we got in the August Color kit: Limoncello, Be Mine and Something Borrowed.

I scraped the pads directly on my page.

Then, I used my brush, added water and mixed the colors slightly, adding a few colourful splatters around them.

I also uses a few leaves from the Prima Marketing Plain Chipboard Laser Cut Flowers (August Embellishment kit) and made them black with an ink from my stash.

I used a Vicki Boutin Color Study Cardstock Sticker (Embellishment kit) for my title and plenty bright and beautiful mandalas cut out of the Paige Evans Wonders Paper #1 (August Paper kit).

I used a photo of Sabrina at a ceramic craft boutique named « Mandala Cafe » ! I thought this was the perfect photo for my page ! I added tissue paper and adhesive foam behind it and placed it crooked on the right side of the layout.

I also added adhesive foam behind my title and most of the hand cut mandalas, and arranged them in clusters around my photo.

I hand wrote my journaling directly on my background with a fine-tip black pen and stamped the date.

Wow ! The bright colors stand out so much on this page ! Very different from my  usual go-to pastels !

Here are more close-ups:

I hope you felt inspired by this page today,

Until next time,

Sophie xx

  1. WOWza ! The stunning background looks beautiful with all the fussy cut elements you’ve added to your design ! I love the big photo too!! 💛K

  2. Beautiful! Did you use gesso before you scraped the ink pads? You’ve inspired n idea I’ve had for a pic of my granddaughter painting at daycare!
