RECIPE CHALLENGE | MORAG CUTTS

Hi friends.  I do love a scrapbook challenge – it can be a great starting point for a blank piece of paper or enable you to try something different.  This week’s challenge has certainly taken me out of my comfort zone!

70% white space was the most challenging element of the recipe for me – I normally have lots on my pages.  I started off with Shimmerz – my new absolute favourite thing.  I find it very easy to add some colour and visual interest with these little pots.

I used the Berry Hot from the July Color kit and mixed it with some Purple Peony from the March Color Kit. Allowing the layers to try means that you get those gorgeous watercolour marks.  I also stamped onto the background for more texture.

Those beautiful chipboard hexagons from the July Embellishment kit are perfect for anchoring embellihsments and elements.  I aligned mine so that there was some rythmn to the page.

I added puffy and cardstock stickers here and there as well as some gems from my stash.  For added drama, I also splattered black acrylic paint before calling it a day.

Although this is out of my comfort zone, I thoroughly enjoyed the process.  You can see full process on my YouTube channel:

It is a rare occasion that I start and finish a layout in one sitting! Thank so much for looking.
