Mixed Media Monday Clouds | Vicki Parker

Hi everyone, it’s Vicki here today with my mixed media Monday layout focusing on the cloud stencil from the June Colour Kit. Disclaimer: I don’t have my June kit yet, so I am using the May Kits, however the lovely Kim Watson sent me the artwork for the stencil so that I could cut my own and have a play!

I wanted to create a dreamy, cloudy background for my layout and so using a blue ink from my stash, an ink brush and the stencil, I set about creating it. I started at the top and brushed the ink along the top of the stencil lightly before moving it to the right a little and extending the pattern. I carried this down the paper until I had filled a large part of the centre of the page.

I used some white acrylic paint, watered down, to add some splatters to the background. I also used the centre of the stencil to draw and cut out some clouds which I also edged with the blue ink.

I cut my title using an awesome exclusive cutfile – I used the inside of the letters cut on the Obed Marshall, Buenos Dias paper and used some of the prima watercolour in Marigold to add a little extra subtle detail. I raised the letters with foam pads to add more dimension.

I layered the photo with some Pocket Life cards and embellished the page using some Paige Evans, Wonders embellishments. I love how this came together, it’s very simple, but very dreamy – I hope it inspires you. Thanks so much for looking, Vicki x
