WEEKLY CHALLENGE FRIDAY | BRIANNA LEPPER | MAY 2021 HIP KITS

Hey friends!   Brianna Lepper here with you today for the new Weekly Challenge using the June Mood Board and the May 2021 Hip Kits!  The May kits are jam packed with some really great products and I had so much fun creating this layout!

Here’s the beautiful mood board for June!

I was completely inspired by the parasols in the mood board so I thought it would be fun to create a bunch of rosettes for my photo and embellishments to sit on top of.  Our additional design team prompt this week was to use four different patterned papers so I used those to create my rosettes.  I followed a simple tutorial on YT to create the rosettes using 1″, 1.5″ and 2″ strips of paper.  I used my score board to create the .5″ score lines and folded them like an accordion.  I adhered two of the folded strips together and glued it to a punched out circle on both the front and back of each rosette.   I used liquid glue to start but then switched to hot glue since it set a lot faster.  Super simple!

These rosettes were so fun to make!  I ended up choosing patterned papers from the Reaching Out, Buenos Dias, Keeping It Real and Wonders collections.  The mood board had hints of navy, shades of pink and a bit of aqua so I thought these papers were perfect.

Once I finished making all of the rosettes, I arranged them in a way so that they would start on the bottom right corner and go up to the upper left corner.  I’ve been totally on a diagonal design kick lately!  I adhered them all down and then got to work on embellishing.  Since my photo is of my pup in my backyard, I thought the house stickers from the Reaching Out collection (Main Kit) would be perfect to use on top of some rosettes.  So I built my clusters around them.

I matted my photo using a scrap of  one of the Pinkfresh Studio papers and then layered more stickers from that cardstock sticker sheet around my photo.  I thought the gold resin hearts from the Maggie Holmes Garden Party collection (Embellishment Kit) would be perfect centers for the rosettes so I adhered them down to a few.

For my title, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Keeping It Real Teal Puffy Alphas and added an arrow from the Jen Hadfields Reaching Out stickers (both from the Embellishment Kit) underneath it.

I added a cute little subtitle using the Paige Evans Wonders dimensional stickers and also tucked in some tangled thread around my clusters.  (Main Kit)

I wanted to add a few more smaller details, so I fussy cut some of the butterflies from Wonders Paper 8 and also pulled in some of the Wonders Puffy Stickers (Embellishment Kit).

To finish it off, I added some quick journaling and some gold ink splatters from my stash.  I love how it turned out and was so inspired by this lovely mood board!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way!  Don’t forget to play along with us this week and head over to the Weekly Challenge post in the Facebook Group to enter!  Remember, you have to be in it, to win it!  Pick up your May kits here and while you’re there, get your June Kits too!  They’re beautiful!!!!!  See you next time friends!
