MIXED MEDIA MONDAY by Sophie Delorme

Hello Hip Kit friends !

It’s Sophie on the blog today for Mixed Media Monday !

It is my first layout with the beautiful May kits and ahhh it’s so exciting !!

I used a beautiful May Subscriber cut file designed by Kim Watson named « Banners ».

I created a simple and soft background by applying some Distress Oxide ink from an old HKC color kit on a cloud stencil from my stash, and sprayed two Shimmerz on the center and lower part of my cardstock: Sweet Heart Vibez and Mustard Seed Vibez Shimmering Watercolor Mists from the March 2021 color kit. They have a beautiful glittering finish to them and I love the soft effect that it gives to the background.

I backed the banner with beautiful patterned papers from the May Paper kit, mainly the Obed Marshall Buenoz Diaz Vamanoz Paper, Obed Marshall Buenoz Diaz Mosaico Feliz Paper and the Pinkfresh Studio Keeping it Real A little Chaos Paper.

I stitched the banner directly on my background paper with white thread and added adhesive foam behind each little banner for more dimension.

I chose a black and white photo of my lovely Sabrina and placed it on the right lower side of the banner. I also added tissue paper, a layer of patterned paper and adhesive foam behind it.

My title comes from the GORGEOUS American Crafts Obed Marshall Buenoz Diaz Alphabet Thickers (May Main kit).

I added plenty of beautiful embellishments: flowers and butterflies from the Paige Evans Wonders Floral Ephemera pack (May Embellishment kit) and a beautiful heart sticker from the Jen Hadfield Reaching Out Phrase Thickers (May Embellishment kit).

Finally, I scattered a few Pinkfresh Studio Keeping it Real Enamel Dots (May Pocket Life kit) and hand wrote my journaling directly on my background.

Here are a few more close-ups.

Ahhh how I LOVE these kits !!! This color scheme is just amazing !

Anyway, I hope that my page has inspired you in some way !

Thank you so much for stopping by, I will see you again soon !

Sophie xx
