WEEKLY CHALLENGE I MONOCHROMATIC LAYOUT WITH INTERACTIVE ELEMENT I KERSTIN SCHEIDLER I MARCH 2021 + APRIL 2021 HIP KITS

Hi everyone!

New week – new challenge!
This week is all about monochromatic. For this layout I used the two great March 2021 and April 2021 Hip Kits. Exclusive part from the March 2021 Hip Kits perfectly matched the April 2021 Hip Kits.

I chose the B-side of the Amy Tangeringes “Monarch” paper from the Brave + Bold collection ( April 2021 Main Hip Kit ) and matched the embellishments to it.
I trimmed the paper to a size of 3.5 x 6 inches 2x.

Then, I used the different color coordinating embellishments and decorated my two pieces of paper.
From the March 2021 Pocket Life Kit I used the Puffy Stickers flowers and hearts and from the chipboard the cuts the color matching parts. From the stickers from the March 2021 Pocket Life Kit were color matching – for example, the great “amazing” lettering.

From the April 2021 Pocket Life Kit I have used the various color matching stickers from Maggie Holmes from the collection “Garden Party”.

It’s hard for me to describe exactly how I put my embellishments together in this layout. I lay everything out first and then start arranging the individual elements on my paper. I lay down, take away, move … until I am satisfied and then I start to glue them on.

Stickers I stick first on a white paper and then cut them out. So I can think about where I want to put the sticker(s).
I usually stick my elements with 3D dots to bring some deepness to my layout.

After gluing on the various embellishments, I cut six small 2 x 0.5 inch cutouts on each of my white cardstock ( 3 on each side ) so I can slide the papers on (interactive element).

Then I wrote my text on Vellum, adhered it to a 2 x 6 inch wide piece of paper from the March 2021 Main Hip Kit – B-Side Pretty Sweet “Fantasy” and attached it between the cutouts with double sided tape.

Now comes the tricky part! Then I placed the two “doors” on top of the layout, flipped everything over together, and then glued 3D dots to both paper elements in the paper cutouts. I always glue the dots on twice so that the element can also be pushed really well. To fix the whole thing then I glued each 2 pieces of paper.
I think I will share a little video in the Hip Kit Club Facebook group, so you see and understand what I mean or how I did it.

Last but not least I added a flower, a tag, some leaves and enamel dots here and there.
