Hi everyone, I am waiting for my May kit to arrive and realised that I have only done one layout using the gorgeous March kits, so I had to pick that back up and have a play for mixed media Monday.
I wanted to use all three of those fabulous, bright Shimmerz – Mustard Seed and Sweet Heart Vibez and Purple Peony Creameez from the Color Kit. With the two sprays, I sprayed right on to the thick white cardstock I was using – no gesso in sight. This is a little scary in case it makes a big mess, but I got lucky! Then I put some splats of the watered down Creameez onto the page and spread it around a little. Adding some smaller splatters just enhanced the watercolour effect and made a great base for my layout.

I used one of the exclusive subscriber cut files from March for my title. The full cut file says Hello Spring, but I just wanted the Hello part. I cut it on one of the exclusive papers in the kit and added foam to the back to pop it off the page. I love how the mixed media shows through the letters.
Next, I embellished the whole layout using some pocket life cards to mat the photos, some die cuts, chipboard stickers, puffy stickers and some fussy cut flowers – finishing some of the flowers off with an enamel dot centre.
I added some messy thread in a few places which added that little something extra to the mixed media and it was finished.
