Hi everyone, it’s Vicki here today to share my layout for mixed media Monday using the March 2021 kits and an exclusive freebie cutfile which you can find in store here.

I started by cutting the Plaid Background cutfile onto white cardstock and while it was still on the cutting mat, I covered the page in clear gesso and then sprayed the two Shimmerz Vibez from the March Color Kit all over the page to create a messy mixed media look. When it was all dry, I cut part of it and then stitched it to the page.

I then added in some of the squares that had popped out as a bit of extra dimension and interest.

I added some of the rolled florals from the Embellishment Kit – I really like the ones that just have a bit of dimension that you can use with an enamel dot in the centre. I had two photos, so I put one of the chipboard frames beneath one photo along with a chipboard tag into which I added some string from my stash.

I layered up using some of the floral die cuts from the Embellishment kit and a foiled acetate die cut from the main kit. My title uses the ombre alpha and I sewed through it to keep it attached to the page.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for using the Color Kit with the cutfiles. Here is the final layout.
