Hello Hip Kit club friends, Becki here to share a layout with you that I created for the weekly challenge using the March 2021 kits. The challenge for this week is to add a hot air balloon, butterflies, a fussy cut element, and a cut file.
This was quite a challenge for me but I love a good challenge and I couldn’t wait to jump in and create with the gorgeous March 2021 kits. The element that I was most excited to add was the butterflies. I fussy cut the butterflies from a 3×4 card from the pocket life kit. Fussy cutting is one of my favorite techniques! Do you love fussy cutting too???
The biggest challenge for me was the hot air balloon. I decided to hand cut a hot air balloon out of patterned paper. I embellished the balloon with strips of patterned paper, a fussy cut butterfly, and a puffy sticker bow. The hot air balloon serves as an embellishment on my hidden journaling.
I wanted to add some personal journaling about my son and nephew’s high school graduation. I simply scored and stitched along the left side of two 3×4 cards to create a spot for the journaling. I also added a tab with the date stamped on it so you can lift the flap easily to read the journaling.
The title is cut from white cardstock and a member cut file. This cut file is FREE for subscribers. I used a few of the exclusive patterned paper to back the cut file.
To tie everything together, I made a small tear in the background paper along the upper left side of the page and the bottom right side of the page. Then, I adhered a scrap of patterned paper and a sticker behind each tear. I love this added touch to pull the design together.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you have fun creating with this challenge.
