Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday!! Its Melissa here and I always love sharing a layout made for a product focus!  My product focus for today is blue, yellow, grey and woodgrain.   I’m using the February 2021 Hip Kits, and specifically the Main Kit, Pocket Life Kit, Embellishment Kit, and Cardstock Kit.  I love getting all of the kits so I have lots of gorgeous products to play with!! Here is my layout.

 

 

I was very inspired by Kimberly in creating this layout.  In a Facebook live Kimberly shared this kit and specifically mentioned that the Pink Fresh Studio paper could be fussy cut.  So that’s exactly what I decided to do and I love how it looks over the top of the dark navy paper with hearts.  I decided to scrap two photos of my 6 year old daughter Brielle, on the first day of school this year.  Here in New Zealand the school year starts in February. I used one of the cut apart cards from Simple Stories to hold my journaling. I added grey phrase stickers onto the card.

 

 

I was so happy to use two of the Simple Stories chipboard frames, especially as they feature woodgrain.  I selected the “Documented” frame because it had the cute binder clip, which is a typical back to school icon!

 

 

The chipboard Simple Stories stack of books were also perfect for this layout, and so were the puffy sticker pens.

 

 

The kit has lots of yellow and blue embellishments and I had so much fun incorporating them into my design!! I always adore the Hip Kit Club exclusive die cuts, and this kit has lots of words and phrases that are perfect for titles.

 

 

I added both machine and hand stitching to my layout.  I love the subtle texture and interest that it adds!!  I added the tiniest amount of hand stitching to this layout by stitching around the blue heart on the cut apart card.

 

 

I loved that the second frame had the word “today” on it.  I built around this word and added more words and phrases for my title.
