Hello Hip Kit Friends !
It’s Sophie on the blog today and I am sharing a step-by-step process of this beautiful layout created with the January 2021 Hip Kits !

Today’s layout was inspired by the lovely Mood Board created by Jana McCarthy.
I was driven by the top left photo where there is a rainbow coloured field, and by the center photo of the wheel. I used that circular shape and the floral cluster as the base for my design.
This was the general sketch for my page:
I used a photo of Sabrina resting on our sweet and patient Labrador !
I created a very soft rainbow effect with a mix of the January color kit diluted with lots of water for the bottom half of the page, mimicking the field from the mood board.
I also added plenty of color splatters.
I used a Subscriber February cut file for my title « Special Kinda Love » designed by Kim Watson and added a HKC Exclusive Dream Big Puffy Speech Bubble Sticker from the Pocket Life kit.
I concentrated all my embellishments around my photo.
Then, I decided to do some hand stitching following the rays of color from my mixed media.
I hand drew some swirls and made holes to guide my stitching. Then, I chose matching embroidery floss in a «rainbow » order, following the color scheme of my background.
It adds that extra interest and softness to the page. What do you think ??
